i have a leaking transmission pan gasket.i took the pan off and cleaned it out good and wiped off the oil from the mating surface of the bottom of the transmission.but before i could get the pan back up into place oil would always seep down onto the bottom of the transmission where the gasket mates to it.anyway i got the new gasket on and tighted it maybe about 10 ft.pounds(dont have a torque wrench). began to put the oil back in it and noticed that with the front of the car jacked up oil would seep out of the back of the transmission gasket. If i jacked up one side of the car it would seep out of the other side of the transmission gasket.Ive driven it about 400-500 miles since replacing the gasket and it continues to leak. what could be the cause of this. i used a volvo gasket but didnt put any sealant on it.should i have. ive put many gaskets on before using my same torque method and never had one to leak like this.any help would be appreciated. thanks.
