Driving for 3 hours at 100mph will do no damage. Don't worry about it. As far as the top speed, I'd be more comfortable with an oil temp guage at that point, but if I had one, I wouldn't worry at all. Since european cars are built with the knowledge that their top speeds may be tested every day, they're built to take a good deal of abuse. Though Volvo makes cars with different specs for different markets, there likely isn't enough difference between US and Euro cars aside from emissions to cause problems.
