bosch oil filter - by-pass valve? 700 1989

I just bought a Bosch oil filter, since it was the only alternative to Fram (including 3 or 4 other brands made by Fram) that I could find locally.

I've discovered that the Bosch is made by Champion Laboratories, and it seems to be a properly-constructed unit.

Question: Does it have a by-pass valve? The rubber anti-drainback valve can be seen through the inlet holes, but there is no spring-loaded valve at the far end of the can (looking through the outlet hole). Is the by-pass valve integrated with the anti-drainback valve? I'm a bit reluctant to use the filter unless I can confirm this.
