A/C removal 200 84

My dilemma is this, I recently bought an 84 244Ti that has a non-functional A/C system. It just makes noise when turned on. Living in western Canada, I've never missed having A/C in my other cars and it seems like a device that would LOVE to see you open your wallet frequently. Doesn't really seem worth blowing money on something I'll use 1-2 weeks out of the year. Has anyone had any experience pulling the A/C system out of a 240? All the archives seem to suggest the older A/C systems didn't work all that great anyways. Ideas? Pro's/Con's anyone?

Thanks,

Scott
