Improved Alternator Mount 200 1984



I'm fed up with the three-hands-needed, prybar adjustment of my alternator.

What I'd like to do is keep the lower swivel mount, but replace the upper with either a modified turnbuckle or a custom rod with heim-jointed ends.

My objective is to be able to back off the pivot, then rotate the adjuster until the desired belt tension is achieved.

With the present adjuster, results are erratic, and I just flat don't like the stock mounting.

Anybody tried something like this?
