Re: What is maximum crusing speed for B230F? 700 1992

I had a UK spec '86 740 wagon a while earlier in the year. B230E engine, ie no cat. That cruised at 95 to a 100 miles an hour no problem. Had 170000 miles or so no significant oil consumption. onsistently did 300 miles to 45 litres of petrol. Very high geared though less 2500 RPM at 80 miles an hour, overdrive was simply not worth bothering with at less than 60 MPH. Don't really go over 100 MPH 'cos it driving licence losing territory, but it easily did an indicated 110.

Swapped it for a '92 245 low miles, 106000. lovely body, and I'm seriously considering chopping it up into repair panels for my '78 stretched 245 wagon it is such an horrible device. Bits keep dropping off most Un-Volvo like.

Regards
