testing ignition coil 700 1987

My 760T/wagon suddenly quit while idling. I am getting no spark at the plugs nor at the high tension coil lead. I have 12 volts at the primary coil leads. With an ohm meter I seem to be getting the correct readings on the primary and secondary according to the Haynes Man. What am I missing? Can the coil be dead and still give good ohm meter readings? Is there some other component in the system I should be checking? Thanks!
