new engine in - problems out.. some of them 200 1981

Hey,

I just spent all weekend (thanksgiving long weekend in Canada) putting a rebuilt engine in my 240. Went off more or less smoothly. I also replaced the centre bearing and rubber support. This solved a low grinding/clunking sound that has been occuring moments after "take off." unfortunately it hasn't solved one of the more annoying problems I'd had. When I am driving the car under high load and low RPM, in other words pulling away or creeping up a hill, there is a low, hollow ring or vibration that seems to be coming from the middle to rear of the car. At first I thought it was a worn flywheel, but then I found it happened when I was climbing a hill slowly in first gear. It sounds off for a moment and then gradually dissapears as the revs climb above 1300 or so. The higher the load, the louder the sound. If I creep away from a stop with barely any gas, there is no sound. I checked all my u-joints and they have zero play. Could it be worn bushings? I know my torque rod bushings are worn, but I don't think it would cause this sort of problem... unless they are allowing the diff to move so much that something rubs . Any advice would be great. Also, any questions about the engine replacement are welcome from those of you who are daring enough to attempt it.
