Re: How fast do you drive? ALL

In Florida, our speed limits are usually 65-70mph. I usually drive 9mph over as it doesn't scream 'badguy' to the cops, and it reduces drive time. If someone passes me at a significantly higher speed, I'll speed up to 5-10mph less than them.

My brother, a friend, and I took a trip from Orlando to Houston to see a Toadies concert two weeks ago, and we were going 80mph the whole way in my brother's cherokee, had no problems, and were passing everybody. I would have preferred to take my '83 245 but reliability issues came about.

My 245 cruises very well at high speeds, but eats gas so it isn't worth it. Since it's got the tallest gearing of any 240, I have to shift down any time I want to accelerate on the freeway.

I remember back in the day when I had a 1990 IROCZ Camaro, I used to drive the same way as I do now, and sped the same amount, with the exception of occasional 150mph+ runs on clear freeways. I got pulled over 6-7 times in the 2 years I had that car. I've had the Volvo for 1 1/2 years, and I got pulled over for a missing taillight once.
