Re: How fast do you drive? ALL 1989

My morning commute of 40 miles on a 5 lane highway is set at 55mph... I usually do between 70-80mph. Cops are far and few between, and any I see I pick up with my Valentine one waay before I see them. All the interstates around western NC are 60mph, and the speed limit seems to be 80 there. You go 80, you stay perfectly with the flow of traffic. Also happens to be the sweet spot of my 740T, nice and comfy in OD. I've hit 130+ (speedometer only goes to 130) in it, late at night with a clear road.

One time I was in Winston-Salem in my friend's chipped 850T, and I was trying to get back to my girlfriend who just flew back into town in Asheville. It was about 1:30am and on I-40 westbound, I averaged 93mph according to the trip computer, following this Yamaha R1 ridden by a guy obviously in a hurry. We'd cruise single file for 5 miles or so at 90-100mph, then he'd get on it and so would I... we'd pull until about 140-150 and then back off. This repeated for the entire hour and 20 minutes it took to get back. (it usually takes a good 2h15m in the daytime.)
