Help: Car won't start SOMETIMES 700 1990

I am stumped. Suddenly, about 1 month ago, my 1990 740GLE wouldn't start AFTER it easily started that morning and I drove it about 20 minutes. After having the car towed in, the garage ran diagnostics to confirm the spark and charge were good and replaced the fuel filter. I drove the car for about 1 week. 1 week later, same problem. I start the car without issue in the morning, drove it for about 1 hour, parked it and it wouldn't restart (turns over but won't fire). I then replaced the spark plugs, ignition wires, etc. as that was needed anyway. After this happened a THIRD time, I replaced the fuel pump.

Well, after all that, this problem is still occuring. The car will fire perfectly first thing in the morning OR after it sits somewhere for more than 4 or 5 hours (engine gets completely cold). If I can't let the car sit for that long, I truly am never sure if it is going to start or not.

Has anyone else seen this problem? I can only assume that there is some kind of vapor lock forming in the fuel line that dissipates as the engine completely cools but that would imply I have a clue why the hell my volvo is doing this.

I welcome any help.
