Re: Info on a "DAF 66DL" ALL 74

In '73 Volvo bought 1/3 of the Dutch company DAF, Volvo's way of quickly getting into the small car market in Europe. By '75, Volvo owned 75% of the company, calling it Volvo Car BV. The 66DL was a DAF design, with Volvo styling (?) queues. A 1289cc Renault engine was used. DAF's claim to fame was their rubber-belt-and-pulley continuously variable transmission (CVT) which they called Variomatic. The next models (343) looked much more Volvo.
