Stall Problem 700 1989

1989 740 Turbo. Acquired a year ago, ran great (except for recent overdrive relay problem). 3 months ago, drove to work, got off freeway, u-turn under overpass and accelerated, the car stalls. No stumble, choke or anything. Had enough momentum to roll into a parking lot and shut it down. Immediate attempt to start failed, after a minute started up and drove fine until last Thursday. Exited one freeway for another and encountered traffic, as I slowed down, car stalls, just like I turned off key, no choke, stumble or anything. Rolled off the road and tried to start, nothing. After a minute, starts and runs fine rest of way home. Does the same thing Friday, exit freeway, come to stop light and dies, except sort of "clunk" this time. Restarts after a minute and a couple of tries. Another thing I noticed recently is if I drive for awhile and then turn car off, it will not start right up again, I need to let it "rest" for a few minutes. I've seen some things on the board to check, was wondering if anyone else had some insight. Thanks!
