distributer oil leak 900 93

I am leaking oil from the distributer on my 93 945T. I pulled it off, and there are 2 green o-rings (one small one the shaft, one large one). The Haynes picture seems to suggest a third one, underneath the wings of the part that spins (on the outside of the shaft). As it seems the oil is getting to the cap and then out via the shaft, perhaps this is the problem. Also, I found some material when I pulled it off, like yellow-clear varnish. And is it OK to use generic o-rings that fit, or should I stick with OEM? Any tips in solving this kind of leak would be helpful.
