Re: Removing adhesive for side light installation 200 1989

It's just strong double sided tape with a thin layer of foam in between. On an '89, you should be able to pick at it and peel it off just by using your fingernails. If your car DOES NOT have clear coat, you can use 3M Adhesive & Wax Remover, which works quite well for removing emblems, pinstripes, etc. If you do have clear coat, stick with something safer like WD-40. I removed the same emblem on one of the fenders on my white '87 244, and after cleaning the area with the adhesive remover and polishing the paint, I can't even tell where the edges of the emblem were.
