Engine noise? 900 1991

Hi people

Looking at a 1991 940 Turbo, approx 70K Miles. There is some engine noise at idle once the car is warmed up enough to come to a slow idle, kind of "tock tock tock tock" noise. The sales guy says its piston slap ( in fact, he told me that the engine had some piston slap at idle even before I went in to look at the car ).

Is that common on these engines, and is it anything to worry about? It disappears as soon as the engine is raised above idle.

Thanks,

Les
