painting the roof rack 200 1992

My white '92 245 has a black roof rack, but the paint has begun to peel. I'm looking for suggestions as to what paint I ought to use for repainting it. I hope to do this myself, rather than turn it oveer to a body shop. Of course I'll pull it off the car first and prepare the surface, but I'm clueless as to what paint product and/or process to use.
