If I'm ont mistake the later model bellhousings that do bolt onto the brace are all for the 140/1800E cable actuated clutch style. So adapting it to the hydraulic system on a 120/1800s would be a real chore.

My 2.2 liter B20E engine in my 544 is bolted up exactly as described - with the B20 brace just acting as a dust cover.
