How to remove the AC/Heat controller? 700 1991

I have the ac/heat controller with two round knobs. I removed the black plastic frame and then 4 screws. The unit does not seem to budge. I don't want to force it a break something.

Thanks in advance for the help.

If removal of the radio is needed, I am also having problems with that. There is a slot for a screwdriver on each side of the radio. I can feel clips inside, but am not able to get the radio to budge.
