No start, sort of backfire 200 79

Hi,

I was looking at a 240 today that's for sale and han't been driven for 2 years. The car would not start, even though she said someone else came and started it and it ran very well(but that person was also revving it up a lot) When I tried to start the car today, it would sort of try to run (for 2 seconds), but then stall. Sometimes when trying to start it, there was a 'pop' noise and then smoke coming out of the engine bay. Eventually I removed the air cleaner, and found the smoke to be coming up out of the engine from that.

I then removed the whole hose, and found quite a lot of oil in the hose, and on the part of the engine where you hook up the air intake hose.

Any Ideas as to what could be wrong?
