Re: Points vs. electronic ignition 1800 1972

I used to swear that contact points were more reliable (rare complete failure, just rough running) than elect., ign., then I started "swearing at" my contact points as a series of lousy condensers fried them up. I feel that unless you can get quality condensers points are not worth the trouble. I now use the distributer/coil/ and module from a '75 240 and it is rock solid, cold starts at -30. You will be much happier.
