Questions about AC 200 1986

Hi, everyone--

In an attempt to swaddle our new baby in steel, my wife and I have been looking for a 240 wagon for several weeks. You've already steered us away from some lemons (thanks). This time, I really don't want to be talked out of a purchase. I found a perfect 86 240 DL with 100k garaged its whole life, and I can't believe how great it drives. The only kicker is that the AC doesn't work. The owner says he thinks it has a leak, but from my reading on brickboard and talks with dealerships, I'm worried I might be opening pandora's box. I can deal with no A/C (barely), but the baby probably can't. We've driven other 240s with cold AC, but not this sweet. Owner is asking 3200, I don't plan to give him more than 2500.
