My Oil Pressure Readings. Need you Opionions 200 1993

Hi: I have a 1993, 240 wagon, B230F engine, auto-transmission, 140,000 miles.

I'm in the process of diagnosing my engine oil pressure after my oil pressure light on the dash occasionally flickers.

Here are my reading on a HOT engine (10+ miles) with an oil pressure gauge attached to the block where the oil pressure switch/sensor would be (I made an adapter to a 1/4" NPT fitting).

Car is in park on a level surface.

750 rpm .... 7 psi

1000 rpm ... 11 psi

1500 rpm ... 19 psi

1800 rpm ... 21 psi

2000 rpm ... 22 psi

2400 rpm ... 24 psi

3200 rpm ... 35 psi

I think I need a new oil pump or to rebuild it base on some previous posts that you folks responded to.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

P.S. The spec is 36 psi minimum at 2000 rpm. This is from the Bentley and Volvo (green) manuals.

Just need your thoughts.

Thanks....Mr. Tool..
