B20 update 120-130 1967

OK so here's an update on the B20. The engine is running well. I've got about 350 miles on it so far. This past weekend I swapped out the newer M41 for the older one. It was leaking and I couldn't determine the source until I'd pulled it out. The top cover gasket was the culprit. I also counted speedo gear teeth 20 on one (black) and 22 on the second (green). Haven't put enough miles on it since I'm back to the 20 teeth gear. Does anyone know where the "hat washer" with goes in the speedo output/speedometer cable loop? Which direction/orientation? I have it placed between the two with the hat part around the end of the gear shaft in the OD, and still am only getting a few threads with the speedocable threaded cap. Is this right?

The other noteworthy change is that I was a low on ATF in the carb dampers, (must have lost some when swapping motors), which I believe allowed excess needle lift and thus the drop in mileage. I'll know in awhile. Carbs tuned up a lot better - smooth idle (I can almost balance a quarter on the valve cover) and the RPM drop when lifting pin on alternate carbs is pretty close. I'm happy. It idles real nice and accelerates smoothly. Looking forward to a nice long drive.Timing 10 BTDC @ 750rpm and no knock or running on.

Clutch slave holding fluid. Replacement on order.

Received breakerless electronic ignition setup (from 75 240?)(distributor, resistor and module) and have not installed it yet. The accompanying wiring diagram (for B21F, B21F-turbo and B23E/Canada) shows 2 terminal coil. I presume this means I need a different coil or to cannibalize my ignition switch/coil which I don't want to do. I have a dead one which I'm willing to butcher if necessary. Is there a way to keep the original setup and add a second coil? Anyone done this retrofit into a 122? Vpartz had photos showing this on his car but I can't find them.

I live in NYC. I was working on a roof (large deck job) less then a mile from the WTC when the first plane flew in low over my head. I looked up and wondered why it was flying so low over Manhattan for the 2-3 seconds it took until it hit the building. Life here has changed. I decided to spend some time out of the city, and mark this time in my life by finishing the B20 rebuild/swap into my car. 20 years from now, I can mark when this happened by remembering that that was when I got the motor back in the car. Whatever. I'd really like to take a road trip, and follow up on a fantasy of mine which is to document the variety of humans (and their cars) around the country who I have been made aware of who (for many reasons) share this fanaticism (poor word choice) with these cars and engines. Get out of Dodge. Share some rarefied info and learn some as well. Affirm life choices etc. Don't know that I can do it now, and it's getting cooler, but it's on my mind. None but y'all would understand this. Thanks to all for your assistance.
