No. The bodies share similar styling (twin brothers worked on these cars - one on the 940, one on the 850, so what'd you expect?), but they are completely different.

There are a few parts that are common - power seat controls, maybe some other little bits, but not much at all. Some things can be made to fit, like the 850R air dam or maybe a decklid spoiler. Drivetrains are wholly incompatible in the US. In Europe, there is a 5spd manual gearbox (the M90) that mates to either the older B21/23/230 series or the newer 5 and six-cylinder engines - but even then, mounting a newer engine in an older car is not plug & play.
