Seat Heaters 900 1996

How can I tell if my seats have heaters installed and not connected? I have blanks where the switches should be in the console, and under the blanks are harnesses. Can I just buy the switches and attach them to these harnesses? I've looked under my seats but I don't really know what I'm looking for. My car also has headlight wipers which I thought were part of the Winter package which also included heated seats.
