Want replace ZF with an AW What years of 200 and 700 series will work. 700 1985

We have a 1985 740 with a bad ZF tranny. Upon initial acceleration the car hardly moves until it seems to get to third gear. Then it will act normally. Any second guesses here. We want to change to an AW. Does our 1985 740 have the electronic speedometer. We would like to get info on what years will work in this swap. We know the 200 series was upgraded to an electronic speedometer in 86. Can we use a AW from a 200 series 86 and on. Was the 700 series equipped with an electronic speedometer from the first year of production. If so will any 700 series AW work. Lastly, someone mentioned the flex plate in the archives. Is there another term for this. What and where is the flex plate.
