I know I know, its a V-6, but...... 700 1990

Ok I've had my eye on this '90 760 thats totally drop dead georgous. Today I stop at the guys house thats selling it to take a closer look. Test drive the darn thing and it runs like a bat outta hell. I was really amazed by the response that this thing had. It was very very quiet had 91,000 on the odo and the guy was asking 3000.00 for it. Well I ask what's wrong with it. He's say's nothing at all..so I pop the hood and to my amazement it was the treacherous V-6 that everyone talks about. Well I took a good look around under the hood...this thing seems to be well built. I mean the damn oil is even cooled on this motor. So I asked my Volvo mechanic whats the deal with. He told me to snatch it up as soon as I could...he said its not all that easy to work on, and parts are a little steep for it, but its a really nice buy. My question is why does the V-6 get such a bad rap and is this really a nice car to buy. All they books are up to date. And second, whats the life expectancy on this thing. Will be able to pull 250,000 plus on this car like I did with my 240. And man all the bells and whistles and to finally own a IRS volvo how nice!!! N e way, impatient brickster here waiting for your responses!!!! Thanks in advance
