You and a few others may ignore that elaborate disclosure. It is a defense due to a situation in which I gave advice to a young and inexperienced DIY-er who jacked up the engine in order to change motor mounts using - as I have done many times - a bottle jack with a 2x4 block across the oil sump. He put the block over the drain plug, and jacked up the engine high enough for the bolts from mount to cross-member to clear the cross member, and the bell housing did hit the car body. Well, the oil sump couldn't take all that weight and it caved. He let all who saw his post that he had received erroneous and malicious information. Thus - a long and wordy disclosure statement. Many other bricksters came to my support, and any apology I might have ventured was flamed away by the greenie.

That's the background on the disclosure. Feel free to copy and modify it however you please.

The Volvo Green book WDM for 1987 240 lends no aid in determining the use of the dangling blue wire. I think the wiper for the head lights is in the European market.

Is the "OD" an acronym found in Volvo-dom or elsewhere?

Regards,

Bob
