m47 g'box, slightly worn....i think.....gonna change the oil....to what?? 700 1988

Hey all,

I have an m47 and it's starting to "whirr" a little in third. Well, actually, i think it oil is in dire need of a change....when i got the car (20,000k's ago) i could hear 3rd gear *slightly* whirr.....now i hear 2nd and 1st slightly whirr when *just* keeping the car accelerating, and 5th when i am doing 100kmh (again, only slightly). I am worried, for obvious reasons.... I just had a new clutch etc put in, and it seems to be worse after that (i didn't hear it a month ago). My centre bearing and engine mounts need to be replaced, could that affect it at all? I am looking at changing the oil with Mobil 1 10-30w synthetic....smart moooove?? I hope so, because it sounds like a good idea! Thanks for any help with this!

P.S. If i need a new transmission, does the m46 use (or fit) the same clutch and flywheel as the m47???
