Gauge questions 140-160 1970

I need some advise on the following:

Gas Gauge - When I fill the tank it shows full, but when the tank level drops to about 3/4 full, the gas gauge drops to below empty and stays there until I fill it again. Should I assume it's the float in the tank or the gauge itself?

Speedometer - the speedometer is off (slow) by about 5-10mph and makes a loud rubbing noise when cold. Something has worn out. Even the trip odometer is off, shows lower mileage then I've actually traveled. It has 151K on the odometer. Do you think it's the cable or is the speedometer itself just worn out?
