questions re: 1975 244 200 1975

Greetings all-

I am being offered a 1975 244 (B20F engine), with 110K miles on it. The air vent thing (I forgot what it is called) that regulates the air to the injectors needs to be replaced. Also, it gets hot when I start it up, but cools off within 5-10 minutes. Did a compression check, the all read in the range of 130-145. I noticed a high squeel sound coming from the back of the car when running; not sure what that is. Lastly, after I drove it around, I took off the oil lid (the place where you add oil to the engine) and I noticed that a steam/light smoke was coming out. My instinct tells me that isn't good. Oh, it smells like fuel a bit when driving it around. Otherwise, there is light rust on the body, but it is general good shape. Any insights or opinions would be welcomed.

Thanks-

Joe H.C.
