Alternator Brushes Available???? 200 etc

Does anyone know of a source for brushes [only] for the internally-regulated Bosch alternators? I had cars fail in one week because of worn-out brushes. I was able to fix them with parts I had on hand....but the brushes in those aren't going to last very long. I have only found the brushes available as part of the voltage regulator assembly for $40-bucks-plus. I would think you could get brushes and solder 'em in [like they used to do in the old days......]
