Yeah, it should bolt to most of the 4 cylinder engines. I don't know about the earlier 240s, but most of the 80s at least, and perhaps into the late 70s.

The problem with the 5 speed is that it--the US version--has no speedometer pickup. The earlier European versions might. You have to have an electric diff pickup for the speedo to work with the 5sp transmission. And an electric speedometer too, of course.
