Numbers??? ALL

I am confused, I was reading through the posts and i saw something intersting. It has to do with the way that the numders that designate the car, such as 245 and 444, are used to tell what series it is (first number), how many cilinders it has (second number), and then how many doors it has (third number). Now this being the case, and please correct me if it is wrong, then what about a 111, one cilender? one door? or what about the 440? does it have any doors? how do they get into the car? through the sun roof? I am confused please help before i lose all my hair.

thanks in advance
