'88 760GLE Floods, need help 700 1988

I have inherited a 1988 760GLE. After running for a short duration, then sitting it floods and wont start. It will start fine after sitting for a long time until completely cold. I have changed the fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter, and tuned up the car. It still happens. I am now lost as to what the problem is. I fear any solution with the word "chip" or "relay" in it. Once I can get it running it works great. I have learned to love this car and need help.
