Service reminder light 200 93

The July/August edition of "Rolling" quotes the May/June "ipd Newsletter" on resetting the service reminder light on the '93, 240: "With ignition off, press the button." (Lower right corner of instrument cluster)

There actually is a small plunger within the button. I have pushed that plunger in every manner imaginable, including the one mentioned above, but the light stays on. Mine is a '93 Wagon of the "Classic" variety. I've checked the Board Archive. All sorts of great stuff on this subject, but none for the '93, and who knows how Uncle Olaf changed his mind between '90 and '93. I know; black tape is cheap and effectve, but it lacks finess. Any better ideas?
