Stalling/wont start, engine code translation 200 89

Hi all, my 240 has been acting funny for the last few weeks and today I had to have it towed to a shop. When I first noticed trouble 2 weeks ago I was on the freeway and experienced total loss of power and the car died. I was able to restart it after many attempts and made it home. I have had intermittent problems with loss of power and power surges and a few stalls during the last 2 weeks.

Today after driving for a half-hour or so I had total loss of power and the car would not restart after dying. The engine would turn over but would promptly die even when giving full throttle. The codes were 2-2-1 @ 2-3-1. Does anyone have any idea, taking into account what I have explained the symptoms were, what might be wrong with the car? I just want to make sure the shop does not take me for more than what really needs fixing. If I was more mechanically adept I would do the work myself but alas I am pretty inept at those types of things.

Thanks in advance for any comments and/or advice.
