using hours instead of mileage 700 1988

This is comming from a guy with too much time on his hands. I have recently come into possesion of a hobbs meter. I put it in my 740 right away. I am guesing that hours running is a better way of measuring the term of oil changes. I am always trying to find a way to use less fossil fuels, and do less work myself. I think I will monitor the miles I drive compared to hours and calculate how often I am changing now. Does anyone have any experience with this? I just like the idea of watching the the oil based on actual number of hours run then just on miles, wich really very when it comes to run time.
