Two size starters.??? 700 86

Just an FYI to this board that has helped me a lot.Had starter problem earlier this week and was able to procure a good used one from my favorite

volvo only shop (advertises on this board).After I pulled out the old one,

I noticed it's bigger (maybe an inch in diameter)compared to my new/used replacement!!The replacement is a perfect fit however,except for the stated

size difference and it cranks a lot faster and stronger than the old one(before it started acting-up)!!!I have a non turbo 740 '86, does anybody

know which one was the impostor ?? The first(big) or the second (small)??
