Re: Wahoo! found a perfect dashboard/pad 140-160 1970

Can't help you on removing the dash, but whatever you do don't put Armor All on the dash. It will dry it out (regardless of what the bottle says).

Your best bet is to go to an auto parts store that sells those carpeted dash mats for "regular" cars and try to find one that is very close to your dash, then you can cut it down and have the cut ends sewn by almost any sewing shop. Or you can go to a carpet warehouse and buy a thin piece of carpet that matches your interior, cut it to fit, then have a sewing shop sew the ends so they don't fray. If all you are going for is something to keep the dash healthy on a day to day basis then this is your best bet.

You could also go the route of the reflective window things that you put in cars to keep the sun out, but if you are like me then you'll stow it in the trunk and never use it!
