Heated mirrors switch - lite on if no current draw? 200 93

Does anybody know if the little lite in the heated mirror switch will still lite if both mirror heaters are not drawing any current for whatever reason? I've had one mirror heater out for years and recently when I pushed the switch the lite did not come on and the other mirror element did not come on either. Wondering whether it is the switch or the remaining heater. I a new bulb in and it still did not work. Also, saw a post (by an elf with small hands no doubt) who talked about turning the mirror all the way and reaching back there and cleaning the contacts and I really don't see how to get anything in there to pull those contacts off. Has anybody done this?

Thanks in advance,

Robb
