The old test "if one turns the opposite direction, it isn't a limited slip" isn't always true. Depends on the type of the limited slip. Mine requires two complete rotations before it engages. On jack stands, one wheel turns one way, the other turns the other. Better way to tell, and do so carefully, is to take a floor jack with wheels, NOT a bottle jack, jack up one side only, gently give it some gas. If the wheel on the ground gets power, you have a limited slip. If the wheel in the air continues to spin and no power to the one on the ground, it is an open differential.
