Re: underheating 140-160 1973

Check the accuracy of your gauge first if possible. Loosen the cap on your radiator(not overflow tank) and warm the engine all the way. Then use a thermometer to read your water temp. A meat thermometer works good, just clean it good afterwards, and don't let the wife see you do it :) If the temp is over 140F don't worry about it. In the winter the cardboard in front of the radiator trick works great.
