I too was ripped off last summer by an internet used car parts scam artist who searched classified ads in auto forums and sent either nothing or junk after getting his money. In my case, it wasn't Volvo related so I won't detail it here. I'm out $200 for nothing, was sent junk.

I later found out that this same guy was known for this, has a criminal record and has had authorities watching him for a while yet no matter what I tryed, I never got my money back. I posted everything I could about him in the forums where I knew he was scamming from which got alot of attention as I had his name (fake), address, e-mail address, phone #. He then responded to me, begged to stop putting his name, etc, talked to him on the phone too where he promissed to re-pay me yet he then moved and I got nothing. The authorities and website administrator did nothing to help me get it back either, I'm just out.

So.........................first threaten his butt if he refuses to give you your money back (don't pay to have it rebuilt), and if he refuses, post everything you can online at every related Volvo site you can to warn others. He knew he sent you junk, no doubt.

In the future, unless you're buying from a trusted source, only except COD and inspect the goods BEFORE giving the UPS driver the check even though he'll tell you that he can't do that (against policy). If you don't first inspect the used parts, the seller can still send you junk and UPS won't help you once it's off their truck and they have your money.
