sunroof headliner removal 700 90

The headliner saga continues. I repaired the shell (did a crappy job, man I hate fiberglass) applied the new headliner material to the crappy backing board. I still can't seem to remove the headliner from the sunroof. Any suggestions? Can the sunroof headliner be removed with the headliner in? Haynes wasn't much help and I couldn't find anything specific in the FAQ. Please help?
