Headlight Headaches 700 1992

At the beginning of the summer the headlight warning idiot light came on. I had to replace the passenger side Halogen blub. Seems that the low beam went out. High beam fine! Two weeks before Thanksgiving the same blub went out again (low beam), high beam fine. And once again, the same stupid blub that I replaced not 30 days ago blew out again (Low out...high fine). OK at $10 a pop its starting to get expensive. What gives?? Could ther be a short? I also would like to mention that I make sure not to touch the glass when I install the new blub. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

A very young white 1992 745 w/113587 miles.
