Air Mass Meter 200 1984

Was driving down the road when my car stalled and would start but at a really low idle and stall when given throttle. Felt like it was starving for fuel. I pulled off the air mass meter plug and the car started and I was able to drive it home, (didn't run very well though). Basiclly the car will not run with AMM plugged in. It is safe to say that the AMM is bad? Any help is appreciated.

Doug
