Add my voice to those who used 1/4 inch and regret it. The sunroof is almost inoperable, even with numerous adjustments, and the interior main light won't clip into its holder. Also, stay away from 3M 77 adhesive(ask me how I know). Find out what the pros use and get that. The shop where I bought my fabric used a brush-on glue, not a spray.
