Brand X parts possible money savers...... 200 1988

I had seen some misc. posts about oxygen sensors....something to the

effect that you can use a sensor from a ford 5.0 liter in a 240..(years?)

also, on a bmw board...(what the hell was i doing there???)..someone

had posted that they used an in tank fuel pump from a FI chebby vega..

in their bmw w/LH 2.2.....got a lifetime warantee from autozone, cost $29,

apparently it has the same specs and dimensions as the later 240 unit..

Has anyone any experience with stuff like this....i'm real curious about

the O2 sensor substitutes.....i will be getting a pump(vega type)

for $28...to put on the assy.i pulled from the parts car...will try it on

the teenage volvo killers '87 240....

I'd like to use bosch all the time....however...sometimes saving

$$ is cool....Have i been influenced by the don of the cape cod family...?

Anyway....i'd appreciate hearing from anyone who's found reasonable

substitutes.....

Have a bizarre day!
